Intermediate classes are available for students reaching a higher skill level. The focus is on helping them to become more consistent, and to become more familiar with tournament procedures. Students are encouraged to participate in local, state and national competitions, and to become involved in the U.S. Archery's ranking program (optional).
The Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Program is the U.S. Archery's training program for youth 9-18 and offers opportunity for young archers to earn incentives as they develop and improve their scores up the ranks of Yeoman, Jr. Bowman, Bowman, Junior Archer, Archer, Master Archer, Expert Archer, Olympian, Silver Olympian and Gold Olympian. An U.S. Archery youth membership is mandatory for participation in the JOAD awards programs well as for competing in state, regional and national championships.*
Adult Training Programs (18 +) is designed for students 18 and up. The program offers training, and an achievement award program and training much like that of the JOAD program. U.S. Archery membership is mandatory to participate in the awards program as well as for competing in state, regional and national championships.*
We recommend that you do not purchase equipment until the student has been assessed for eye dominance, and has been shooting for a while. Students will be able to gain strength, and will need longer arrows as they practice and stretch out . We can advise on equipment at that time. Once the fundamentals have been learned, the student may also participate in in intermediate Classes.
